Get ready for a potential scorcher!

The UK could be in for another round of hot weather in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the Met Office has confirmed a slightly increased chance of heatwaves between July 11th and 25th. They’ve also cautioned that predicting exact timing and duration is tricky at this stage.

What to Expect

If the heatwave materializes, temperatures could soar to around 32°C in some parts of the country, particularly in the southeast. Expect plenty of sunshine and dry conditions as high pressure settles over the UK. However, don’t be fooled by the warm air – the water temperatures are still relatively cool, so swimmers beware!

Heatwave Conditions

  • Temperatures are expected to reach 32°C in parts of southeast England, making it the hottest day of the year so far.
  • Much of southern England and southeast Wales are likely to experience heatwave conditions, with temperatures meeting or exceeding the heatwave threshold of 28°C in London and 27°C in the southeast.
  • The hot weather may be short-lived warning has been issued for later in the week across large parts of the UK

A Brief Heatwave?

Unfortunately, the good times might not last. The Met Office is forecasting potential thunderstorms towards the middle of the week. It also could bring a sudden end to the heatwave. But fear not, some predicted the temperatures to remain above average even after the storms pass.

So, while we can’t say for sure when the next heatwave will hit, it’s definitely something to keep an eye on. Stay tuned for updates from the Met Office and get ready to soak up some sun (and maybe even a thunderstorm or two).
